When I saw this film for the first time, I was scared sh * TLE. This film was simply excellent in every way. I had never heard of him, and I decided to see everything. I was up 2:00-4:00 (in Philadelphia), see this film because it was the time it came on when I saw him first. I was dead tired, but nothing would help but watch it all along and I'll tell you why.
Five med students: Nelson Wright (played by Kiefer Sutherland), Rachel, Manus (played by Julia Roberts), Joe Hurley (played by William Baldwin), David Labraccio (played by Kevin Bacon), and Randy Steckle (played by Oliver Platt) are the five best friends who want to experience how it feels to be temporarily dead. One by one, each of the five friends in less than gas units up to their brain and heart functions are disabled, where they have access to life after death. Nelson must first go through an experience trial. Because he is temporarily in the afterlife, he sees something that has kept a secret past seventeen years, he and three friends accidentally killed an innocent boy named Billy Mahoney, an innocent child that Nelson used the bully. Nelson managed to survive. Joe is the next to go under. While the experiences of the afterlife, he begins to see all the women he slept with and then dumped.
Worse part of it is: letter of each girl, filmed while having sex with them, where it is, then life successfully. David is an atheist, which is not just a little 'skeptical about this experience. They want to prove wrong, Joe, and Nelson, David ends up in the next through the experience, he sees a little girl named Winnie Hicks, an innocent girl, she and some friends used to be disturbed. They lead a successful life of David. Rachel is a painful attempt to try. He shows that it can not be less than five minutes, more than Joe, and David Nelson. So it goes under. What he sees is a horrible suicide of his father, and he managed to survive. Randy decides not to pass the test.
As the day progresses, the other four will begin to see terrible things. Joe walks everywhere he sees the women he had shot when they had sex. Dave is everywhere, he sees the image of Winnie Hicks. Rachel goes anywhere, she sees the image of his dead father. Everywhere Nelson yesterday, he begins to see poor little Billy. But when he sees Billy, Billy basher him in the face with something, facial scars Nelson everywhere. These images are not just images, but their past sins, the people who have seriously violated.
