The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) said the photos were exaggerated Jo Swinson MP echo statement that L'Oreal ads "are not indicative of results that the product can reach," according to the BBC.

Swinson added images to promote the "body image problems," he told the BBC. "We should have some honesty in advertising and that is what ASA is there to do," he was quoted as saying.
ASA said retouched photos were fine, as long as they are misleading, harmful or offensive. "If advertisers go too far with airbrushing and other post-production techniques to change the appearance of models, and is likely to mislead people, then it is wrong and stop advertising," ASA President and CEO, Guy Parker said the BBC.
For cosmetics brands, requires ASA to show signs of how much airbrushing and retouching had been done to the images. L'Oréal does not meet these requirements, Parker told the BBC.
